Students and Parents,
On Tuesday, November 17th the Wheaton R-III Board of Education adopted a mask mandate in response to Governor Parson’s modified quarantine plan. This mandate will be implemented beginning Monday, November 30th. Below you will find the requirements that must be met to follow the modified quarantine plan. There are a few items we would like to highlight:
-In order to be eligible for modified quarantine, both the person who tests positive for COVID-19 and the person in close contact (within 6 feet) with the positive case must be wearing an approved mask properly (gaiter style masks and other single-ply masks must be doubled to qualify)
-The modified quarantine pertains only to the school day (students under modified quarantine cannot participate in extracurricular activities)
-This will require students and staff members to wear masks more frequently, including in classrooms where students cannot be 6 feet apart

Special personalization offers for 2021 yearbooks are available until Nov. 27 for $41.25. Books without cover name or icons are $35. Orders can completed online here: https://www.jostens.com/
Select our school and get a copy of our memorable book! Thanks!

Bulldog Families,
This morning Governor Parson along with the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education announced the following new updates for determining close contacts to a positive COVID-19 individual.
Under the updated guidance, proper mask wearing may now prevent individuals from being identified as close contacts in K-12 schools that have implemented a mask mandate. This means that if both individuals at school – the person diagnosed with COVID-19 and the person exposed to the positive case – have masks on and are wearing them correctly, the individual exposed does not need to quarantine.
See the updated guidance here: https://dese.mo.gov/sites/default/files/COVID-MO-K12-Reopening-Guidance.pdf
We will be working with local health departments to determine the best way to implement these new guidelines and will be sharing more soon. Please make sure your student(s) continue to come to school with their mask. We want to keep all students and staff safe and healthy and in school. Please review the scenarios below.

In the coming days, be on the lookout for scholarship announcements via social media.

Hey everyone! We are so excited about tomorrow night! Just wanted to send out a few reminders!
First off the event has been moved to the High school gym to give us more space since we have had an amazing response!
It will cost $5 per family to enter. We will have a photographer there to take pictures as well for an additional $5. (You will receive a digital copy of your photo.) Both of these will need to be paid in cash.
Secondly, if you have someone that is not your child’s legal parent or guardian they HAVE TO have a note from a legal parent/guardian stating who they are coming with and that you give them permission.
Also with all of this being said, all dancers will need to come into the building together. A daughter will not be permitted without an adult there to accompany her and an adult will not be allowed to come in without the child.
We are so excited to have you all come and remember if you did not turn in the original note that went out that is ok! You are still welcome to come!! We hope to have an amazing turn out!

We are proud to announce that Harley Andersen was accepted by St. Mary's University in Leavenworth, Kansas as his college of choice. He will be pursuing the paths of Computer Engineering and Informational Technology. After he receives his degrees in these fields he plans on working for a large company as their Informational Technology Professional and reaching out to his superiors to obtain help for his former S.T.EM. team the Wheaton Robodogs team #11659.
